GKFTII 7th Convocation Ceremony

Convocation in any dedicated educational institution is the moment of mixed emotions. Saying good bye to your alma mater is never easy. Students have grinded themselves for three months to one year of grueling sessions in the classrooms, studios, locations and various productions to make themselves suitable for the demanding film and media industry. On one hand they undergo prangs of separations from their classmates, teachers and friends and on the other hand they aspire for the charm and attraction of the new world which is their dream destination in term of their professional field. The epitome of success, it seems, is just a few steps ahead!

Ms Swaroopa Ghosh, the renowned Bollywood Actress was the chief guest for the valedictory function. Students welcomed her with thunderous applause. Students have appreciated her acting skills in feature films ‘Vicky Donor’, Pink, ‘Unfreedom’ and ‘Piku’ to name a few. She got the best actress award for ‘Binodini’ and for Aparna Sen’s ‘Ghorey Bairey’ recently. Students listened to her words of wisdom in rapped attention. Ms Ghosh told the students that understanding ‘Art’ is understanding ‘life’ in itself and for that they have to be a good human being in the first place. She advised students not to get deterred by the pitfalls of the glamour and glitter of the media world and strive hard to reach their goal. Ms Swaroopa also emphasized on acquiring the reading habit and continue with the learning process forever.

Prof Kalyan Sarkar, Dean GKFTII told the gathering that the 07th Convocation leaves deep foot print on the timeline of media training as Gulshan Kumar Film & Television Institute of India (GKFTII) has already made its presence felt in the field. He also informed Mr Hitesh Ralhan, Director, Gulshan Kumar Film & Television Institute of India that the dignitaries, whose opinion matter, have sent words of appreciation to the faculty, management and students. No other way of expressing their appreciation can be better than to accept the students in their organization or company at responsible posts and rely on these alumnae to carry on the GKFTII legacy. So far, many students have already been absorbed in the field even before formally passing out from the institution. Needless to point out that, this fledgling Institute is just about one and half years of age. With grace of God, GKFTII is all poised to make many bench marks with each of the forthcoming sessions. The management is working overtime to add new resources to keep pace with the phenomenal growth of the industry.

Loaded with knowledge and experience, the students were brimming with confidence and contentment as they found themselves closer to their aspiration in true sense. Their world of dream looked more realistic and achievable.

Madam Sudesh Kumari, Director, GKFTII, sent her blessings in absentia for the students, faculty and the staff and asked the Dean to convey her appreciation. Mrs Tulsi Kumar, Director GKFTII was conspicuous by her absence due to her pressing schedule.

Prof Mansoor Naqvi, Associate Dean, formally concluded the colorful program by paying the vote of thanks to the dignitaries in his versatile poetic style which was followed by extensive photo session and lunch.
