Formal Inauguration of the 5th Session of GKFTII

The Dreams of many would be film makers and media personalities got merged together to synergize into one powerful mission in the shape of formal inaugural function of the 5th Session of Gulshan Kumar Film & Television Institute of India.
The fifth session was formally inaugurated by the renowned Bollywood film Actress, Model and theatre personality, Ms Swaroopa Ghosh and Dr M. Sayeed Alam, renowned poet, journalist and theatre and film personality
Dr Sayeed Aslam as usual mesmerized the students with his knowledge of the field. “GKFTII has all that is required for a student to be successful in the profession provided you are willing to pick up every bit of gem that is given here during the training”, that’s what Dr Sayeed drew the attention of the students. He repeatedly emphasized on the need of developing the reading habit. He also guided the students to refrain from addiction which is so tempting in this field.
Ms Swaroopa Ghosh, who is also an academician besides being a popular actress, shared lot of words of wisdom. She said, “It is very important to be a good human being to be a good actor”. She has acted in ‘Vicky Donor’, Pink, ‘Unfreedom’ and ‘Piku’ to name a few. She got the best actress award for ‘Binodini’. She has vast experience in theatre and has been associated with big names like, Alqazi, Barry John, Smita Bharati, Ranjeet Kapoor, Tripurari Sharma, Amal Alana and Anjan Dutta to name a few. Ms Swaroopa is a store house of knowledge which she is always willing to share with the students. Prof Kalyan Sarkar, Dean, GKFTII, requested her to take an Acting workshop with the students which she very kindly agreed. Students listened with attention to both the dignitaries and participated in the discussion freely.
Under the guidance of Smt Sudesh Kumari, Director, GKFTII, the 5th session commenced with more energy and confidence. The success of the previous batches brought in a new enthusiasm in the faculty, staff and the students which was throughout visible in the function. A good beginning was made with the formal opening of the fifth session.
Prof Mansoor Naqvi, Associate Dean, GKFTII paid the vote of thanks to the dignitaries and in his address reminded the gathering that in GKFTII we teachers believe in bringing up the lower strata who too may have the same ambition and dreams like the privileged classes. This happens to be the dream of Gulshan Kumar.
